Dead Space impressions with video trailers.

•November 11, 2008 • 1 Comment

I started playing dead space based on a couple reviews I downloaded from several different pod casts.  I usually don’t rush out and buy something just because, someone says its good but, I’m glad that I did.

The first minutes of this game really blew me away.  The premise of the game is centered around the main character Isaac Clark, an engineer,  who should not have woke up for work this morning.  The Uss Ishimura lost communication with everyone and Isaac and his team is responsible for the repairing the communication failure.  That’s where the story gets very interesting.  The problem is bigger than anything that the team has ever encounter.

Dead Space is a great mix of action with a unique spin on character development.  You have to collect Power Node to upgrade you weapons and Rig (armor).  These can be obtained by purchase ( through the in-game store) or by finding them in the game.  Also, you can buy new weapons via the store.  Lots of the action revolves around walking around and getting the crap scared out of you while trying to stay alive.  Gforce missions are really fun.  Some of the jobs that Isacc must complete include repairing the outside structure, and eliminating nuclear waste.

This is my impression about a few of the key points in Dead Space.  This game could be a serious contender for game of the year.  Enjoy a few videos I found on the net.

Silent Hill: Homecoming impressions for Xbox 360

•November 3, 2008 • Leave a Comment

It’s been away since I have blogged any game related news. Work, School and family have been my main concern these past few months. I’m back and ready to give my thoughts on Silent Hill. On the surface this game is gorgeous. It has made a smooth  transition form the original xbox to xbox 360.  The developers put a lot of time in making sure the environments are creepy and and full of fog, which is something we have come to expect in a Silent Hill game.

The biggest problem that I have with this game is the health pack and bullets. Where are they? I walk and died and walked and died. This would not normally be that bad if the enemy weren’t so overpowered. I have this game set on the normal difficulty and still trouble killing creatures with the pipe and axe. I think that if you are going make getting health packs rare you should get an achievement every time you find one. I spend more time at the reload screen then I do actually play this game.

I had to stop playing about halfway trough the game.  Give me some cheats or something. This game is not playable in the current build. That’s it for now until next time.

P.S How in the hell did you hire a whole testing team of blind people?
